CSR Part of Consortium Charged With Assessing TSA's Conflict Management Initiative 02.09.2010

TSA is one of the leaders in dispute systems design. Under a contract awarded to the Center for Conflict at Salisbury University, Maryland, CSR will work with Salisbury to visit 20 airports around the country in 2009 and 2010 to assess and evaluate the TSA's ICMS (Integrated Conflict Management System).

 
CSR to provide Consulting and Facilitation Services in Innovative IRS Programm 02.09.2010

In an innovative effort to transform the Special Emphasis Program of the Internal Revenue Service, CSR is under contract to consulting, design and facilitation services for the change initiative. IRS intends to create a cadre of of organizational change agents capable of serving a variety of roles allowing them to have greater impact in incorporating diversity in all its forms throughout IRS. Work began in July of 2009.

CSR Conducts Commercial Mediation Assessment for Afghanistan 02.09.2010

under a contract with Deloitte consulting and the Agency for International Development, Pete Swanson will be conducting an assessment in January/february and March 2010 to determine whether and how commercial mediation may play a role in enhancing the climate for foreign investment and more efficient resolution of commercial disputes. The outcome of the project will be a set of recommendations for implementing a commercial mediation initiative nation wide. CSR has designed and created similar programs for Croatia, Bulgaria, Nepal and Egypt.

 
CSR to Provide Recommendations to US Air Force on Housing Privatization 02.09.2010

Pete Swanson and Frank Carr have been contracted through the Institute for Environmental Conflict Resolution to make recommendations for streamlining the partnering process privatization of housing on Air Force bases nationwide. The study, to run from November 2009 through March 2010 will examine how the privatization process as worked so far, the kids of issues that arise between parties, and make recommendations to the Air Force about how formalized partnering processes may assist all parties to ensure smooth transitions in 22 bases scheduled for privatization.
 
CSR to Serve on the Association for Conflict Resolution's New Futures Committee 04.13.2009 11:45
CSR Partner Pete Swanson will be serving on the newly created "Futures Committee" of the Association for Conflict Resolution. This committee will be tentatively exploring how the profession should define itself and those who practice in it, and how ACR can best serve their needs.
 

 
  
CSR Partner to Address Croatian Bar Association Mediation Conference 04.13.2009 11:34
CSR has been invited to send a representative to Zagreb in June to speak to the Croatian Bar on the role of attorneys in mediating commercial disputes. The conference will bring together Croatian, EU and American mediation experts to discuss the developments of mediation in Croatia.

Under a unique pilot project for the Treasury Executive Institute, CSR is facilitating the first ever series of peer coaching groups for senior executives. These self-directed groups of leaders meet once a month to provide support for each other with their leadership challenges.

 
CSR to provide Advanced Mediation Training to the Internal Revenue Service 04.13.2009 11:20
CSR has been asked to provide advanced mediation training to the IRS's cadre of approximately 60 internal mediators in late April in Dallas, texas. CSR Partner Pete Swanson has been working with the IRS since 1995 in the training and mentoring of its internal mediators. The last time CSR offered this training was in 2005.

 
CSR Egyptian Mediation Centre ready for Launch 03.20.2009 09:49
Bob Randolph and Frank Carr are currently completing the design and implementation of an USAID funded commercial mediation centre within the Ministry of Investment in Egypt (General Authority for Free Trade Zones and Investment—known as GAFI) which will hear shareholder complaints against management and majority shareholders in Egyptian companies, along with complaints filed by foreign investors against their Egyptian partners. To staff the GAFI Centre, CSR has trained and certified 50 Egyptian mediators and has provided administrative and marketing training for mediation Centre staff. CSR has also provided Train the Trainer instruction to a select group of mediators to ensure sustainability of the program.

 

 
Partnering Study for the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) 04.28.2008 12:03
CSR along with Salisbury University in Maryland completed an exhaustive empirical review of the highly siccessful Maryland SHA partnering program. At the end of the study, SHA received a comprehensive report on its program with recommendations for change, including measurement tools, and a Best Practices Manual.

 
Partnering Facilitation for the Library of Congress 04.28.2008 11:56
CSR partner, Frank Carr, facilitated the partnering kick-off workshop for the construction of a new sensitive documents storage facility for the Library of Congress. The other participants wer the Architect of the Capitol, the Army Corps of Engineers, and John C. Grimberg Construction Company. The stakeholders received an Issue Resolution Ladder, a Charter, and a Workshop Report.

 
New York City Dispute Review Board 04.28.2008 11:50
A partner in CSR, Frank Carr, is a DRB member on the East Side Access project in New York. The project consists of tunnel construction for a new subway line from Queens, New York, into Grand Central Terminal. The DRB will meet every three months during construction to review construction progress, conduct a site visit, and be available for offering advisory opinions on issues and hearings on disputes. The goal is to complete construction without any litigation.

At the above meeting of the world's leading commercial mediation centres held in Milan, Italy in March 2008, Frank Carr made a presentation on "Partnering." This presentatioin was part of the program concernig new and innovative conflict prevention techniques. There were approxiamately 150 participants from numerous countries around the glob.

 
CSR to Provide Advanced Mediation Training South Eastern European Mediation Conference 04.24.2008 19:33
In support of the Association for Conflict Resolution's South Eastern Europe mediation Conference, scheduled for October 2008 in Zagreb, CSR will provide one of four trainers for advanced mediation techniques. CSR has much experience in the Balkan region, having worked extensively in Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria and Bosnia since 1997.

 
CSR facilitates Major Culture Change Efforts for several Alaskan organizations 04.24.2008 19:18
In 2006 CSR was awarded a contract to provide facilitation assistance to senior leadership within the Division of Environmental Health and Engineering of the Alaskan Native Tribal Health Consortium. This work has since expanded to facilitating major culture change efforts throughout the division as it changes its business model. Services have included facilitation, training, coaching. In April, 2008 CSR will facilitate several more culture change workshops for the Division and provide leadership development workshops for other divisions within the consortium as well as the state run Village Safe Water Program, the state partner in this work.

under a subcontract with SENSA Solutions CSR a senior partner is continuing to facilitate the workshops for senior leadership in a major intelligence agency. The workshop focuses on personal leadership and its impact on culture change.

 
CSR Awarded Contract to Create a Commercial Mediation Program in Egypt 04.24.2008 19:10
Working under Nathan, a firm specializing in AID work, CSR has been retained to provide mediation training, mentoring and program design and support services for the establishment of a commercial mediation capacity in Egypt. So far 80 mediators have been trained and work is underway to create supporting programmatic infrastructure.

 
CSR Provides Training and Facilitation Services to Multiple US AID Projects in Serbia 04.24.2008 19:00
Since December of 2007 CSR has been providing numerous training and facilitation programs throughout Serbia. All CSR activities have been very well received by the participants. Projects have included negotiations training for political leaders for the Belgrade Fund for political Excellence, the US-Serbian Chamber of Commerce, negotiation training for the non-profit sector through US AID's Civil Society Advocacy Initiative. CSR has just been asked to provide negotiation and train-the trainer programs for the Serbia Contingency Planning and Economic Security Program, to be delivered in June of 2008.
