KfW retains CSR to Facilitate Meeting re Ethiopian Grievance & Adjudication Procedures

In September, the German Development Bank (KfW) retained CSR to facilitate a meeting of Ethiopian administrative law experts, academics, judges and grievance officers to address and comment on proposals for bringing Ethiopian administrative grievance and adjudication procedures into conformity with international best practices.

Bob Randolph made a third trip to Ethiopia in September where he briefed the Government, the World Bank, other international development agencies and stakeholders on the results of his twelve-week Study on the adequacy of dispute resolution mechanisms in Ethiopia (courts, grievance redress mechanisms and mediation/arbitration providers). In June, Frank Carr facilitated a partnering workshop for the construction of the Harrisburg Army Reserve Center in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania.  The participating stakeholders included Eagle/ACN JV, ACSIM, 99thRSC, Naval Support Activity, and the Corps of Engineers.

In June, Frank Carr facilitated a pre-construction partnering workshop for the construction of a new Student Union Center at Bowie State University in Bowie, Maryland.  The participating stakeholders included Holder Construction Company, Bowie State University, the University of Maryland, and the design firms.

Frank Carr conducted a successful three-day "Advanced Mediation" training program for federal employees on August 16-18, 2011, which concentrated on workplace issues, advanced communication and negotiations skills, working with diverse personalities, working with attorneys, and dealing with difficult people and disruptive situations. In May, Frank Carr facilitated a partnering workshop for the construction of the Ashley Army Reserve Center in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania under DoD’s BRAC program.  The participating stakeholders included P&S Construction Company, the Army Corps of Engineers, ACSIM, and the 99th RSC.

CSR has been awarded a contract by the U.S. State Department to provide training in conflict resolution, negotiations and facilitation to governmental teams working in conflict areas.

CSR has been awarded a contract by the World Bank to assess the strengths and weaknesses of existing grievance and dispute resolution mechanisms in both the formal and informal sectors and, should those mechanisms be found deficient, make recommendations for improving existing mechanisms or creating new mechanisms which comport with international best practices.

Under a subcontract with Korn/Ferry International, a CSR senior partner has been asked to extend the contract to facilitate innovative workshops for senior leadership in a major intelligence agency. The workshop focuses on personal leadership and its impact on culture change.

Under a contract with Rushford and Associates, CSR provided a pilot course on Resilience to the EPA in April od 2011. The course was very well received and CSR will make this a part of its regular course offerings.  
   
CSR Awarded Contract to Facilitate Senior Staff Retreat for the Native Alaskan Tribal Health Consortium 05.17.2011

CSR will be facilitating the senior staff retreat for the Alaskan Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC), the largest native health care provider in Alaska. CSR has done extensive work with ANTHC since 2001. Work commences in May, 2011.

Under a contract with the Federal Consulting Group, CSR is providing coaching services to senior executives of the Department of Treasury and Department of Defense. CSR also is providing coaching services to the Alaska native Tribal Health Consortium

CSR Completes Three-Day Basic Mediation Training Workshop and Announces Advanced Course to Follow Updated: 04.02.11

CSR conducted a mediation training program for government employees with a focus on workplace disputes in Crystal City, VA, March 29-31, 2011.  The training included mediation process and mediator skill building exercises. 

This is the first phase of a two-part mediation training program which will be followed by a three-day "Advanced Mediation" program scheduled for May 10-12, 2011, in Crystal City, Virginia.  The "Advanced" course includes further work on communication and negotiations skills, working with diverse personalities and communication styles, working with attorneys, and dealing with difficult people and disruptive situations. Bob Randolph and Frank Carr are lead trainers.
